Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

AS Autopy ("we", "our", "us") provides open-source intelligence (OSINT) and private investigation services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from clients and prospective clients, how we use it, and the rights you have over that information. Please review it carefully.

1. Information we collect

We collect two categories of information:

  • Client information you provide: name, email, phone, organization, the subject matter of your inquiry, and any documents you choose to share with us.
  • Research material: publicly available records obtained from court filings, government registries, the open web, archived pages, and similar lawful sources, gathered solely to fulfill the engagement you have authorized.

We do not collect, request, or rely on information obtained through pretexting, unauthorized account access, or any other unlawful means.

2. How we use information

  • To deliver the investigation, research, or consulting services you have engaged us to perform.
  • To communicate with you about your matter, including status updates, clarifications, and delivery of findings.
  • To prepare invoices and maintain professional records as required by law.
  • To improve our internal processes and quality controls.

3. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and basic, aggregated traffic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser; doing so will not prevent you from using the site.

4. Data storage and security

Client files and research material are stored on encrypted devices and access-controlled cloud storage. Communications about active matters are kept on encrypted channels. Access is limited to the lead investigator working on your engagement.

5. Client confidentiality

Every engagement is covered by a written confidentiality agreement. We will not confirm, deny, or describe the existence of an engagement to any third party except where required by a valid legal order, or with your explicit written consent.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell client information. We share information only with: (a) service providers bound by confidentiality obligations and used strictly to operate our practice (e.g., secure file storage, accounting); (b) counsel or other professionals you have designated in writing; or (c) authorities, where required by law in [Jurisdiction].

7. Your rights

Subject to the laws applicable in [Jurisdiction], you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

8. Data retention

Active matter files are retained for the duration of the engagement. Closed matter files are retained for [Retention Period — e.g., 24 months] after completion, after which they are securely destroyed, unless a longer period is required by law or by an active legal hold.

9. International transfers

If you are located outside [Jurisdiction], please understand that information you share with us may be processed in jurisdictions whose data protection laws differ from those of your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
